Mr Philip Moore and Mr Owen Higgs of Ilkley Dental Care took over the practice in 2016 from the previous owner of 30 years Mr Phillip Bode.
With the help of the existing support staff, Pauline, Helen, and Tina, they maintain the practice’s longstanding ethos and reputation for good quality, preventive dentistry.

Mr Philip MooreDental Surgeon - BchD (Leeds)
GDC registration number: 80216
I graduated from Leeds University in 2001. Having worked initially in Mirfield and Keighley, I bought Ilkley Dental Care Limited, along with Owen Higgs in 2006. I believe in providing the highest standards in all aspects of dentistry, treating people how I would like to be treated myself. I take particular pride in making a real difference to patients, helping them to achieve a healthy smile they can be proud of.
Outside the practice, when not taking my children to piano, brownies, swimming, football and class parties, I cling on to my youth by running, cycling and playing football!
Mr Owen HiggsDental Surgeon - BDS (Lond)
GDC registration number: 80235
I graduated from Guy's Dental Hospital in 2001 and ended up in lovely Yorkshire to follow my wife who is a Yorkshire lass.
I started work in general practice in Keighley and in 2006 moved over to Ilkley Dental Care Limited with Philip Moore.
The challenge of working in practice has been an enjoyable one and it has given me a range of skills that allows me to consider every patient and to treat them according to their specific needs.
Dentistry is not a one size fits all job. Looking at each patient and successfully completing their treatment, whether it is a check-up, small filling or a large cosmetic case, is a real pleasure.
I consider that successful dental treatment depends entirely on the trust that must exist between the patient and he dentist and building that relationship is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Amelia MounseyDental Hygienist / Therapist
GDC registration number: 264767
Amelia is a Sheffield graduate achieving Diploma's in both Hygiene and Therapy. This enables Amelia to carry out full hygienist duties and additional treatments including simple fillings and extractions.
Amelia provides our prevention programme assisting our patients in excellent care of their gums and oral hygiene. Prevention and gum treatments help to maintain your teeth for life. More teeth are lost through gum disease than tooth decay!
Helping to remove the build up of plaque in areas that are more difficult to reach with brushing and flossing yourself, a visit with a hygienist not only removes what has already built up making your mouth healthier, but more importantly Amelia will show you methods and tips on how to keep your mouth as healthy as possible. A cleaner fresher mouth not only helps with confidence for those important events such as a job interview or a wedding but also helps to avoid costly dental treatment.
Helen has been with the pratice for over 25 year. She runs our fully computerised reception and is also a registered dental nurse. She is available to answer any enquiries you may have.
